ELEVATED USER-CENTERED ARTIFACTS.
QUANDRY
Seville Classics is a leading innovator in home and office solutions. Within a highly saturated market of climate management, Seville Classics’ challenge to the industrial designers at LDA was to push innovation within the industry by delivering an elevated user experience by rethinking standardized features and functions, materials, technologies, and revolutionizing aesthetic design cues intended to enhance one’s space, while adhering to the brand’s VBL (visual brand language). Midrange cost targets were determined, forcing innovation and design to yield a palatable artifact at a desirable price point.
DESIGN
Seville Classics’ Ultraslimline oscillating tower fan was designed and revised within two, two-week stage gates (refined design and finalized design). Well over 100 iterations were explored, yielding a few exceptional final designs. Extraordinary attention was devoted to research to deliver a positive and enthusiastic emotional response from the consumer based upon modern aesthetic qualities. The final concepts yielded an attractive artifact with an intuitive and pleasant interface, that fiscally undercut the competition. Such a design gained a contract with a major warehouse store.
